Room 14; Tree Day Activities

As part of our National Tree Day Activities we visited St Stephen’s Green and had lots of fun tree hugging and making our own Room 14 tree! 🙂 In sixth class we’re studying the ash tree and will be looking at some in more detail at the final stop of our History trail in Belgrave park. When we came back to school we had time for a few minutes play in the Millennium playground.

  1. That was such a cool day! haha I just saw the photo of me and Bianca randomly hugging a tiny, lonely tree. Poor tree. Delphi should hug it to make it feel better about being so tiny… That was so funny making that human tree.

  2. I totally agree with all of the above. OMG best day ever. Human tree lol;-) I love hugging trees it brings me so much closer to nature. Thanks soo much Mr.Mooney and Mrs.Neill you to are awesome!! Best tree day ever. It was such a great day!! What would we do without trees? I really do not know!! Hugging trees are soo random but soo fun at the same time. Are human tree looks so real. It sould go in the guinness book of records for best tree made by under 13!! Thank you again for such a wonderful day!

  3. I’ve just found out that nearly 4 billion hectares of forest cover the earth’s surface, about 30 percent of its total land area! But, the world’s forests have shrunk by 40 percent since agriculture began 11,000 years ago. Three quarters of this loss occurred in the last two centuries! So that’s how much land is covered by trees that are keeping us ALIVE!!!!!!! We have too find out a way to stop people cutting down trees so often! Please go out and hug a tree! We need them!

  4. I’m kinda obessed with hugging trees now. I’m serious! I don’t know why. I just give random trees random hugs. It’s really fun! It’s like hugging a person but more spiky. Really, go out and hug a tree! They are part of the reason we are here now! Thank them! Once again Mr Mooney, thanks! You made me obbsessed with hugging trees! That’s a good thing!
