On Wednesday April 9th our 5th classes took part in our annual ‘Grand Canal’ study with RTE broadcaster; Éanna Ní Lamhna.
We studied the history of canals in Ireland, identified the flora and fauna specific to the canal and performed some scientific investigations to test the levels of pollution in the water.
The results were surprising.

It Was Really Fun.Eanna Taught us About The pollotion and the visual pollution and she told us about the parent tree. There is so much we learned that day. We didn’t only do that we looked for fish or bugs and we found insects, That told us the water wasn’t polluted and that there is living things in the cannal. The water was chemically polluted though but there were still bugs there
