Science experiments in Room 15 – Materials and Change

The pupils in Room 15 were learning about acids and bases and were testing different substances.

We used litmus paper to figure out if a substance was an acid or a base and we used the colour scale to find out its pH level.

The boys and girls wrote their own Gaeilge dramas this week and performed them for the rest of the class.

St. Louis Hurling Team

Well done to the St. Louis Hurling Team who took on St. Micheals in their first ever hurling match in the cumann na mbunscol league on Thursday 22nd March in Bushy Park.

The school is very proud of their efforts both in training over the past number of months as well as this game.

The game was played in great spirit with St. Louis working hard throughout.

Special mention to the boys and girls in sixth class who showed great leadership to their team mates from the younger classes.

We now look forward to our next league game versus Scoil Naithi on the 12th April at 3pm in Broadford.

Banana Man in Room 12

Sadhbh reads her novel Banana Man to the class. She also worked with other boys and girls to design the cover, blurb and illustrations! You can read her book in the library of Room 12.

 

Brass quintet visit St. Louis

We were all treated to some lovely music in Halla Cullen today from a brass quintet. They spoke about and played their instruments. It was super fun.

Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in St. Louis

We all came together on our lá glas for a school assembly. We heard stories and Irish music. We saw some pupils and Mr. Mc Garrigle dancing. It was great fun.

5th classes were invived to Rathmines Road for a Rathmines St. Patrick’s Day festival. We saw dancers and herd music from the pupils in St. Louis High School. We all danced together.

 

Room 12 – future GAA stars

Room 12 were enjoying learning and practicing their GAA skills that they had learned from the boys from De La Salle College.

It is great fun!

Musical treats in Room 15

Room 15 pupil Jiali treated the pupils in Room 15 to a musical performance this week.

She was playing the guzheng which is a traditional instrument from Asia and it sounded fantastic.

Room 15 attend the IRFU open training session

The boys and girls in Room 15 were very lucky to attend the Aviva Stadium and see the National rugby team training and meet some of the players.

We saw the under 20’s team and the national team that day. It was a super day!

5th class – Irish dancing

The pupils in 4th year in St. Louis High School came to Halla Cullen this week to teach the 5th class pupils some Irish dancing.

It as great to learn a new dance. Thanks to the girls and teachers for coming from St. Louis High School to teach us.
