Leprechaun Laps in St. Louis

This year to celebrate St. Partick’s Day we all wore green and got fit at the same time.

We ran together to some Irish music. It was a great way to stay fit!

St. Louis Hurling team

The St. Louis Junior Hurling Team has been up and running for a number of weeks now and we have been super impressed by their progress. Our first match of the year is on Tuesday April 2nd in Kevin’s GAA grounds at 3pm where we take on St. Catherine’s in a local derby!

Seachtain Na Gaeilge assembly

All of the pupils came together to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge with an assembly in Halla Cullen.

We sang songs, heard about SAt. Partick, heard some wonderful traditional Irish music played by pupils and saw some Irish dancing!

Celebrating Lent in St. Louis

As we prepare for Easter this Lent we are trying to Make a Difference in St. Louis. We are Celebrating Kindness by recording some of the kind things people do for us and giving ourselves a pat on the back by recording some of the kind things we do for others too. We are also making more of an effort to notice the things in our lives that make us happy; the things we a re grateful for. We’re recording these on our Sacred Space too.

Some people are trying to give up sweets, technology, meat, palm oil or some bad habits this Lent. Others are taking up new routines by spending more time playing outside, with their family, doing the things they love to do and practicing their skills and talents.

Happy Heart Day 2019

To celebrate St. Valentine’s Day in St. Louis we did a Happy Heart Workout. All of the pupils in the school took part in a high intensity workout to get our hearts pumping. Our hearts are very healthy!

It was great fun.

The Daily Mile

Frank Greally from The Daily Mile initiative came into our school. He spoke to the Active Committee and told us all about his background in running and how it benefits us all.

The Daily Mile helps children to get fit for learning by encouraging them to run or jog for 15 minutes every day. It promotes social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.

We then tried The Daily Mile with Frank. We will be trying our best in St. Louis SPS to do The Daily Mile!!

WE DID IT!!

Well done to all the pupils and staff who collected the Aldi Rugby Stickers.

Today we put up our 300th sticker to fill the giant poster and we will be entered into a draw to win €50,000 for our school’s sports facilities.

Now onto the next one……..

Celebrating Grandparents Day

Here in St. Louis we love to celebrate our wonderful grandparents.

They were invited into school to talk to our classes and then they listened to the magnificent choir sing.

It was a great day.
