Making sweet music in Room 15

We learned a song called ‘Rocky Mountain’ and we composed our own music to go along with the song.

It was great to work together and also listen to each other perform.

We were revising on our counties of Ireland today in Room 15.

Writing for an audience in Room 15

We were learning about narrative writing in Room 15 and decided to write fractured fairy tales for our friends in 2nd class.

It was great fun to come up with the ideas and to write our stories but we really enjoyed sharing them with our friends in 2nd class.

X- Factor hits 2nd class

All four second classes have been talking turns hosting X-factor. It’s been great fun watching all the talent in second class!

 

Clean up in Room 11!

Room 11 have been learning about the harmful effects of littering on our planet. Dropping a water bottle in Rathmines could end up harming the ecosystem in the oceans!

We decided to get our gloves on and grab some rubbish bags and clean up Rathmines Green. We also wrote letters to our Taoiseach expressing our concerns.

 

Junior Achievement in Room 10

Room 10 are learning about city planning as part of the Junior Achievement Ireland program!

 

The Gards Horse unit visit St. Louis SPS

We were so lucky to have the Garda Horse Unit visit our school this week.

It was great to meet the horses and pet them as well as ask the Garda some questions about the horses.

We also got a meet a Garda that uses a bike. He spoke to us about being in the bike unit and showed us some of his Garda equipment.

It was a great day!

Learning about Georges Seurat

Room 15 were learning about lots of different artists and this month we were learning about Georges Seurat who is a french artist responsible for pointilism. Pointilism involves using closely packed together dots to create a picture.

Active Flag raising

All of the Active Committee came together today to raise the Active Flag.

We worked very hard motivating students and teachers to be more active all year. The whole school came together for an assembly to re-cap on all our active school achievements this year.

It is a great achievement for our school and well done to the Active Committee for all their hard work!

Active School Dance 2019

All of the pupils and teachers went to the yard today and took part in our Active Dance. We celebrated being awarded our second Active Flag!

It was a great day! Well done everyone!
