Room 13 become mathematic mind readers

Room 13 became Mathemagicians this week as part of Maths Week!
We learned about binary numbers and were taught a cool trick which meant we could ‘mathematically mind read’ and used our quick mental maths to figure out the number that our classmates were thinking of. We had great fun!

Room 13 travels back to the 1950’s

We could not believe our eyes when a very old, but very well-preserved copybook was brought into our class by Abigaelle in Room 13. The copybook was from the 1950’s and belongs to Abigaelle’s neighbour who went to St. Louis’ School when she was a young girl! We were very impressed by her neat writing and her carefully completed maths work. We loved looking through the copy and spotting what was similar to our own copybooks and what was different. It was a lovely reminder that history is all around us and you can learn something new from everyone that you meet.

Room 6 have really enjoyed learning about Australia this month. During P.E this week we had great fun creating some Aboriginal dances!

Celebrating Tree Day in Room 2

Animal Art in Room 2

Room 2 enjoyed a visual art video workshop with artist Duffy Mooney-Sheppard around the theme of animals as Messengers, Guides and Fairies. See the wonderful creations they made!

Georgian Dublin with Room 2

After learning all about Georgian Dublin Room 2 enjoyed a day out to Merrion Square where they completed a Georgian Building trail and had lunch in the park.

Pumpkin fun in Room 5

We were carving our pumpkins this week in preparation for Hallowe’en. We will raffle them off at the end of the week!

Monster creations in Room 5

We worked together in our pods to create monsters. We each had to secretly draw a different part of the monster and then pass it to our neighbour.

We got some shocks when we opened the picture at the end!!!
