We used our STEM skills this week to engineer the tallest free standing tower using spaghetti and marshmallows. The tallest tower was a whopping 84cm!
4th Class in Room 13 had a wonderful time learning about Ireland and Dublin in 1911 with author, Sarah Webb. Sarah quizzed us on what life was like for children in 1911 and then read an extract from her beautiful book “The Little Bee Charmer of Henrietta Street” for us. We really liked how this story is based in Rathmines and around the city. Thank you to Rathmines Library for organising this for us!

Our 5th classes had a great time experimenting today! They checked water and wasp sting to learn their pH level! They then neutralised the wasp sting using an ointment! #ScienceWeek2021
This week in Maths we learned about lines and angles. We used our maths eyes to find examples of parallel, oblique and perpendicular lines and acute, obtuse and right angles in our school!
Â
We even did some yoga and found lines and angles in the different poses! Check out our downward dog, tree pose and cow pose! 🤸
Room 5 joined the Anyone 4 Science workshop today to talk about acids and bases.
We found out examples of acids, bases, indicator and neutral chemicals.
We even got to do an experiment using acids and bases. It was so much fun and we learned so much!
In St. Louis we will be trying to earn another active flag for our school this year. Our Active committee will be motivating us to be more active and helping out with lots of fun active tasks throughout the year!
