Seachtain na Gaeilge in Room 13

Room 13 had a wonderful SnG! The boys and girls spent time preparing treasure hunts for all the 2nd classes in St Louis. These hunts brought the children all around the school and they all even found a duais (prize) of milseán at the end!

Seó Faisean le seomra a haon

The boys and girls in Room 1 were celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge this year with a fun Seó Faisean.

All of the other pupils in the school came out to the yard and listened to all the new gaeilge words and watched Room 1 strut their stuff!

Procedural writing in Room 13

Bhí seomra 13 ag foghlaim faoin bia.. so we decided the best way to learn was by ag deanamh oideas for milkshakes! They were very yummy and we learned lots of new vocabulary!

The boys and girls in Room 1 were busy learning new vocabulary in Gaeilge class. They used this new vocabulary for their Christmas stories.

They wrote and edited their stories and then got the opportunity to go to the different classes to read them out for the other pupils.

Oíche Shamhna

Halloween is coming and the boys and girls in Room 1 wrote their first Oíche Shamhna stories in Gaeilge class.

We were so proud of them that we went to all of the other classes in the school and read them out.

We even read them for our principal – Ms. Hanrahan! 🙂

Quiet reading corner in Room 2

The boys and girls in Room 2 are very lucky that the get to read in the lovely, cosy reading space.

Gaeilge lessons in Room 15

Room 15 along with Ms. Fleming went to the yard to learn about clothes.

They played the game through Gaeilge and used all their new words to enjoy the activity!

Seachtain Na Gaeilge assembly

All of the pupils came together to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge with an assembly in Halla Cullen.

We sang songs, heard about SAt. Partick, heard some wonderful traditional Irish music played by pupils and saw some Irish dancing!
