Room 14 were busy creating musical compositions based around the theme of winter. We recorded ourselves performing and were able to see how we looked and sounded when we watched it back. We were also able to identify the things we would improve on or things we liked about our performance. This was really useful for our big performance when Ms. Clerkin’s 2nd class from Room 1 came to watch us. They were the perfect audience!
Ciaran was showing his musical talents in Room 4. Well done!
Some music students from DIT Rathmines came to the school to work with Room 17 for the last few weeks.
The composed their own music and worked in groups to create lovely singing and instrumental pieces. The whole school went to a special concert given by Room 17 and the DIT students.
It was really good!
All of the pupils and teachers were treated to a magnificent performance in the hall.
The orchestra came together and performed some fantastic pieces. It was so brilliant to see them all performing together.
We also heard the recorder groups perform some fantastic pieces and some lovely piano pieces.
The following evening the orchestra performed for the parents, grandparents, families and friends in Halla Cullen again. It was a lovely evening.
It was great and well done to all the performers – super job!!
WOW! The children in Room 6 are learning to play a steady beat on different instruments while they sing a song.
The students in Room 12 have been busy making struts for 3-D shapes; experimenting with sound in science and using musical instruments to respond on our ‘poem of the month’ “The Sound Collector” by Roger Mc Gough.
We’re looking forward to more hands-on learning in the next few months.
