Happy Heart Day 2019

To celebrate St. Valentine’s Day in St. Louis we did a Happy Heart Workout. All of the pupils in the school took part in a high intensity workout to get our hearts pumping. Our hearts are very healthy!

It was great fun.

The Daily Mile

Frank Greally from The Daily Mile initiative came into our school. He spoke to the Active Committee and told us all about his background in running and how it benefits us all.

The Daily Mile helps children to get fit for learning by encouraging them to run or jog for 15 minutes every day. It promotes social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.

We then tried The Daily Mile with Frank. We will be trying our best in St. Louis SPS to do The Daily Mile!!

WE DID IT!!

Well done to all the pupils and staff who collected the Aldi Rugby Stickers.

Today we put up our 300th sticker to fill the giant poster and we will be entered into a draw to win €50,000 for our school’s sports facilities.

Now onto the next one……..

Celebrating Grandparents Day

Here in St. Louis we love to celebrate our wonderful grandparents.

They were invited into school to talk to our classes and then they listened to the magnificent choir sing.

It was a great day.

Aldi play rugby sticker appeal

Here in St. Louis SPS we are collecting the rugby stickers from Aldi when €30 is spent in store.

We are off to a great start already with lots of stickers brought in by the boys and girls.

Santa Dash 2018

All of the boys and girls in St. Louis got active on the day of the Christmas holidays by taking part in a Santa dash.

They wore festive clothing and danced and ran in the yard.

We are a super active school.

It was great fun!

St. Vincent De Paul

The boys and girls in Room 15 went to the St. Vincent De Paul charity shop in Rathmines to drop off the last of the food donations from St. Louis.

We have helped so many families this year. Well done to everyone who donated.

St. Vincent De Paul Food appeal 2018

The boys and girls in St. Louis were very generous this year and donated a massive 70 boxes of non-perishable food to families in our community.

It is great to know that there are generous pupils, parents and teachers in St. Louis.

We hope it makes a big difference this Christmas.

#GAGA

Dublin City Sport and Wellbeing Partnership invited St. Louis SPS to go #GAGA on December 5th

What is it?

As you may be aware, participation rates for girls in sport are much lower than boys. The aim is to promote and engage more girls in physical activity. We tried to kick start this by delivering a campaign called GAGA- Get All Girls Active!

All of the girls took to the yard to take part in different activities with Mr. Whelan.

It was so great so lets continue to go GAGA girls!!!
