In Room 17 we read with expression, an awareness of punctuation and we do our best to get into role as characters in a story when reading dialogue.
We modeled our reading skills to Room 12 and listened to them read aloud. We were able to help them with things such as pausing at a comma or a full stop or sounding excited when reading before an exclamation mark!
Everyone really enjoyed this activity and we all learned from it 😊
Room 12 attended Science Blast in the RDS with their project ‘How to create an erupting volcano’. It was an insightful and fun day out!
This week some of the 3rd classes were lucky enough to meet Shane Hegarty, author of the Darkmouth and Boot series. Over the past few weeks we’ve been reading his book about a lost robot named Boot. We learned some great tips about writing and we had a chance to ask questions and share some of our ideas for robot inventions!
We were learning about narrative writing in Room 15 and decided to write fractured fairy tales for our friends in 2nd class.
It was great fun to come up with the ideas and to write our stories but we really enjoyed sharing them with our friends in 2nd class.
All four second classes have been talking turns hosting X-factor. It’s been great fun watching all the talent in second class!
