Today, we got to play of different sports such as dodgeball, penalties, bean bag toss races, tug-o-war and mini games of tennis and soccer. Thank you to An Garda Síochána for organising such a fantastic day!
Room 16 made their own crib this year.
Room 17 had great fun at Mr. Greene’s 6th class Table Quiz!
Michael and Martin Carruth have been teaching us all about boxing over the last few weeks. We’ve learned about sparring and defending and we’ve enjoyed lots of fitness based activities too!
Tom Mc Cormack (Ben’s dad) visited room 16 to talk to the children for space week. He explained about space to the children: the vast spaces between celestial bodies, the things that float around up there, the extremes of temperatures etc. He explained what’s needed to launch a satellite and he did some experiments on gravity and with liquid nitrogen. Thank you Tom!
5th and 6th classes attended a tag rugby blitz in Wanderers Rugby Club today. After several lessons with Ken from Leinster Rugby, we played against each other and against another school. It was brilliant fun and we learned so much. Massive thanks to Ken for organising!
The 6th classes were getting together to complete the newest craze – The Mannequin Challenge. The aim is to stay completely still like a mannequin in a shop window!
Well done everyone!
6th class pupils have been learning all about the skills involved in being a boxer from Olympic champion Michael Carruth and his team.
The 5th and 6th class pupils were invited to the National Stadium to watch some of the pupils show us the skills they had learned.
It was great to see all the work that was put in and well done to all those who were involved.
The 5th and 6th classes competed in the first ever spelling bee in the school.
All pupils took part and the finalists were competing in Halla Cullen for the chance to represent the school in the county finals.
Everybody did so well but a special congratulations goes to Caitlin Mooney from Room 4 who was the overall winner on the day.
Thanks to Mr. Mooney for organising everything.
Best of luck from the whole school Caitlin!
